Zebra Scanner Trouble Shooting
If your scanner is not operating properly, take these steps:
Be sure that your scanner is using a 110 volt powered cradle, which is an option if you purchased it on your own. Not all USB ports can properly power the scanner. If you do not have a power supply connected to your cradle, then be sure the scanner is connected to the correct port on the computer, and not on a USB hub. For Gate Key partner provided computers it will be the orange port. If you must use a USB hub, be sure it is a powered USB hub, if there is not a power supply that plugs into the wall then into the USB Hub, the hub will not have enough power to properly operate the scanner. Do NOT plug into a USB port on a monitor.
Once you have taken the suggested steps above, please scan these codes in the order they appear, you may have to hold the scanner at different distances from the screen depending on the size and type of monitor you have, so try it at 4", 6", 8", and 10" from the screen. the scanner will beep when it successfully scans in the code.
Once you have programed the scanner using the above barcodes, open NotePad on your computer, using your mouse click into the window opened in Notepad and scan a pass. The scanner should beep and display the pass number on the NotePad window. If it does not, you most likely have a defective scanner, please return to the manufacturer for a replacement or repair.
